My favorite Sounder Arlo White will no longer be the announcer for the Sounders FC.

On Wednesday he formally announced his decision to leave his post as the announcer for the Sounders to take a job with NBC.

Arlo white will be the NBC broadcaster for each nationally televised game next season for the MLS.  He will also cover other NBC aired soccer matches like the Olympics.

As you recall back in August the MLS and NBC announced their partnership for the upcoming Major League Soccer seasons.   The partnership is a huge step in the right direction for the MLS and nearly all soccer fans across the nation where excited for it.

Even Seattle fans were excited until they realized that that merger would ultimately take Arlo White out of Seattle.  We are still excited for what the merger means, but losing Arlo White hurts…  It hurts.

In just 2 short seasons Arlo managed to build a lasting impression on Seattle sports fans.  His honest, exciting and brilliant broadcasting style made him an immediate fan favorite.

I mean lets be honest, I was never happy when the Sounders matches were on Fox Soccer because the lack of Arlo White.

He brought passion, enthusiasm and unbelievable calls through our television sets and put the cherry on top of a fantastic organization.  Its truly amazing how loved he was after just 2 seasons here.

Arlo, we know this is a chance of a lifetime for you and we are excited for you, but we are saddened at our loss.  You set the standard not only in Seattle but in the MLS and we hope your successor can partially fill your shoes.  An accent would be nice too.

To say a final fair well here are the calls of the year by Arlo White.
