Not so Friendly Friendly

Alright… Just as suspected Manchester United man-handled us.

They won 7-0 and who cares about the rest.

Except that it was awesome seeing a finisher like Rooney (We dream big for ~~Soccer~~ Football in the US!)

The best thing about the match was seeing O’Brian White back in action.

On to the stuff that matters.

Sounders take on San Francisco of Panama in the CONCACAF Champions League. The Sounders will play one away match and one home match with an aggregate scoring system, meaning the combined score of both matches will win.

This is a big tourney that lasts a long time, but for how hot the Sounders are playing right now I suspect that we will see them head down to Panama and snatch a win.

Manchester United Wins Space Needle Coin Toss

Last night the Sounders captain Kasey Keller met the Manchester United captain Nemanja Vidic and United defender Rio Ferdinand atop the Space Needle for the coin toss before their match which happens at 7pm tonight.

Because ManU is the away team they got to make the call in the air. They chose heads and heads it was.

When deciding if they want the ball the ManU captain Nemanja Vidic says, “We would like the ball. We love the ball.”

Preparing for ManU

The Sounders FC are coming off a brilliant and vindicating win against the Zakuani killer Colorado Rapids.

The Boys put 4 in the back of the net to come out on top 4-3. Goals from Fernandez, Montero, Levesque and the MLS Player of the week Mauro Rosales. The Rosales honor gives the sounders week 17 player of the week in Montero and week 18 player of the week in Rosales. Add that to the week 10 player of the week Alonso we lead the MLS in the POW category.

Seriously… the Sounders are just out of control right now. Once the defense can find a little goal stopping unity we are taking this all the way this year.

Here comes Manchester United!

The skillz are really about to be put to the test when Manchester United come into town tomorrow (Wednesday) night.

After watching what Real Madrid did to the MLS best team this last weekend it makes me a little nervous. I know it is only a friendly, but the LA Galaxy looked like a high school girls team against Cristiano Ronaldo, Kaká and Co.

Just look and see for yourself below.

If Europe wants football to explode in the US maybe they should help us out by pretending like MLS clubs can compete with best of them.

But we will see when the hottest team in the MLS (Your Sounders) take on Manchester United in front of 60,000 plus fans at CLink field on Wendesday.

We already looked pretty good on the natural grass playing surface that was installed just for ManU. It should be an exciting match.
